Lapis is one of my favorite gemstones, and I’m always awed by the range of body colors and inclusions that can occur in different specimens - all captivating and beautiful! This pair of earrings feature two intensely azure-hued diamond shaped lapis cabochons, cradled in 14 karat golden bezel settings. The lapis of these earrings are inclusion free, of rich and even color. The gold setting is evocative of brackets; two half-bezels at each side of the diamond shapes cradling the gems. The proportions and minimalist design of these earrings makes them striking, even though they are petite in stature. The back of the earrings have another surprise: a diamond cutaway pattern revealing the back side of the lapis cabochons. Lapis lazuli is a hardstone gem treasured for the deep and vivid hues of blue in which it occurs. Earrings secure with 14k gold friction backs.
